Program Proposal

Programming is an integral part of GFP_’s library service. Our programs reflect our mission to connect community, inspire innovation, and encourage curiosity. All of our programs are free for attendees and open to all, regardless of library card membership. GFP_ is focused on offering engaging and entertaining programs for our community to come together to pursue lifelong learning and personal enrichment.

The library considers the following factors when making decisions about library programs:

  • Budget
  • Availability of space
  • Community needs and interest
  • Alignment with GFP_'s mission and core values
  • Presentation quality and presenter's credentials
  • Connection to local community and/or library collections, resources, or other programs

Presenter agreements:

  • All programs must be non-commercial. Presenters are not allowed to sell goods or services. Exceptions can be made for the sale of books, music, and artwork with prior arrangement.
  • Presenters cannot require patrons to share personal identification information.
  • Presenters must create their own materials for program activities and presentations, such as slideshow presentations and handouts, unless arranged ahead of time with library staff.
  • The library’s marketing team supports programs by managing the promotional materials in advance of programs. To ensure alignment with branding standards, final edits and approvals of program promotional materials are the responsibility of the marketing department.

Proposal process:

  • GFP_ plans programs several months in advance. Library program proposal applications must be received at least three months prior to the proposed program date.
  • Please allow two weeks for a response from a library staff member.
