The Grand Forks Public Library offers a variety of book clubs, something for every one who loves great book discussions. Each book club meets at a regular time each month.
The Great Reads Book Club has something for everyone - from suspenseful tales to knee-slapping humor. Plus, no tests! The club is here to simply bring together people who have the same love of books, to have a fun discussion about various books and to simply enjoy each others company. Even if you hate the book or couldn’t finish it, that’s okay— let’s talk about why! The book club meets the third (3) Tuesday of each month at 7:00 pm.
This & That
Are you a mystery buff? Sci-fi fan? Horror aficionado? This & That Book Club is for you. Each month, we will read a book from a different fiction genre and get together for a lively discussion. Don’t like a particular genre? Give it a try, or skip the meeting that month - the goal is to have fun! The book club meets the second (2) Tuesday of each month at 7:00 pm.
Life After Life
Biographies, autobiographies, and memoirs provide a window into another person's life and soul. They also evoke a different time and place. If you enjoy taking a peek into someone else's life, join the Life After Life Book Club to share and discuss life stories. The book club meets the second (2) Wednesday of each month at 7:00 pm.
The Classic Re-Reads Book Club offers participants a chance to re-read those classics that they read -- or skipped reading -- in high school and college. This time with no grades attached! Join us for an informal discussion of these books that became classics for a reason. The book club meets the last Wednesday of each month at 7:00 pm.
Who Done It?
This book club comes with a list of suspects and a pile of evidence. Bring your lunch to the library and discuss the detectives, the mysteries, or even guess who really did it! The book club meets the second (2) Tuesday of each month at 12:00 pm.
Book Club In A Bag
What to host your own book club? Our Book Club in a Bag contains everything your group needs for a great discussion, all in one convenient tote bag. One book club member can check out the entire bag for your book club.
Each book club in a bag contains multiple copies of a book, a list of discussion questions, and other support materials such as published book reviews and author biographies.
Bags may be checked out for 6 weeks, but cannot be renewed. Please return them inside the library, not in the book drop outside.
Several copies of each month's book are available at the library. If you need assistance finding a copy, please stop by the Information Services Desk
Looking for our book club books in audiobook or eBook format? Most of our book club books are available through Library2Go at no cost, and can be easily transferred to most MP3 players or eBook devices.
If you have questions about any of the book clubs, please contact the Grand Forks Public Library at (701) 772-8116 ext.12.
