Build a Better World!

2017 Teen Summer Reading Challenge starts Monday, June 5 and ends on Friday, July 28.  It's open to teens in grades 6-12.  Teens must register online at the link below.  Completed challenges will also be added using this link.

This year's challenge will be based on a points system.  You'll be awarded points when you read books that fit the assigned categories below.

 Manga  Liked the cover  Banned/challenged book  Printz Award winner Book with 500 pages or more
 Graphic Novel  Girl main character  Biography  Alex Award Winner  Read a book recommended by a librarian
 Your favorite book  Boy main character  Nonfiction  Morris Award winner/finalist  
 Book with a color in its title  Based on fairy tale  Historical fiction  Nonfiction Award winner  
   Made into a movie  Published 5 years ago  Book by Edwards Award winning author  
   Book set somewhere you want to visit  Book by author with your initials  Listen to Odyssey Award winner  
  Horror book  Book written by author under 30 yrs. old  Book from the adult collection  
   Book set in different country  Published the year you were born
   Book with nonhuman characters      
Enter your completed challenges on the same link where you registered for the program.  

Prizes will be awarded at 100 points, 250 points, 400 points, and final prizes awarded at 500 points.  

50 point bonus - check out an art or craft book, email us a picture of what you made.
50 point bonus - check out a cookbook, email us a picture of what you made.  
25 more points - if you bring Justine & Mary a taste of what you made!

Over the Top Bonus:  For each 100 points you score over 500, your name will be put in a drawing for an awesome prize!

All points must be turned in by Wednesday, July 26, final prizes will be awarded on Friday, July 28.  All prizes must be picked up by Friday, August 11!
