  2. STEM Cafe` - - Dr. Carl Barrentine, Retired UND Associate Professor – Moths Need People Like You

    July 22, 7:00 PM @ 2110 Library Circle

    Dr. Barrentine will share photos and information about North Dakota moths. He has been capturing and photographing moths for many years. Moths are among the most diverse and successful organisms on earth. Their colors and patterns are dazzling. Scientists estimate there are 150,000 to more than 500,000 moth species. Grand Forks Public Library STEM Cafes are held each month at 7 p.m. in the upstairs meeting room. STEM professionals will share their career, research, or topic of expertise with the public, and the 30-45 minute presentations will be followed by discussion. We hope that the STEM Cafes will educate our community about STEM careers in our community, STEM research and the importance of STEM education for our youth.

    Do you need help with a computer-related question? Drop in for a short one-on-one session with a librarian. *Librarians are able to provide help on general computer topics only.

    Learn how to draw Batman! Make your own Batman Mask! Batman cartoons will be shown from 9:30-4:30! Play Batman Trivia in Teen Haven and win movie tickets! Wear your Batman costume or come as your favorite Batman Villain! All ages welcome!

  5. Family Fun Day!

    The Grand Forks Public Library will have a Family Fun Day the last Sunday of every month from 1pm-4pm! It is for people of all ages and will include board games, card games, Wii games, LEGOS and much more fun for everyone! What good day to get out of the house and do something different! Join us at the library for some gaming fun!

    The Classic Re-Reads Book Club offers participants a chance to re-read those classics that they read or skipped reading in high school and college. This time with no grades attached! Join us for an informal discussion of these books that became classics for a reason. The title this month is "Pillars of the Earth" by Ken Follett. This title will be covered over the months of July and August.
