2. How many books can I have checked out at one time?

A library patron can check out no more than 50 books at one time, including no more than five on a popular subject. You may also check out five DVDs at a time.

Beginning July 1st patrons will be allowed to check out 5 adult books on CD and 5 adult music CDs as well as 5 CR books on CD and 5 CR music CDs. This is a change from our current policy.

3. Can I check out library materials without a library card?

No, at this time library materials cannot be checked out without a card.

5. How many titles can I have in my eCart at the same time?

You can have up to 7 titles in your eCart at the same time. You can remove a title from your eCart by clicking its 'remove' link.

6. How long will a title remain in my eCart?

Once you add a title to your eCart, it will remain there for 30 minutes before it is automatically removed.

7. Can I return items early?

Adobe® eBooks can be returned using Adobe Digital Editions.

EPUB ebooks can be returned using OverDrive Media Console v2.3 (or newer) for Android, BlackBerry, and iPhone/iPad.

8. Can I renew the items I have checked out?

Titles cannot be renewed, but you can check them out again if they are available when the checkout period ends.

9. What happens when I place a title on hold?

A title you place on hold will be reserved for you to check out once it becomes available. When the title is available for you, we will email you instructions on checking the item out. The item will be held for you for 3 days after we email you notice that the title is available.

10. How many items can I place on hold at the same time?

You can place up to 3 titles on hold at a time.

11. How do I cancel a hold?

1.Login to your account.
The 'My eAccount' page is displayed.
2.Click the 'My Waiting List' link.
The titles that you have currently placed on hold are displayed.
3.Click a title's 'Remove' link to cancel the hold.

12. How do I change the email address that I entered when I placed a hold?

1.Login to your account.
The 'My eAccount' page is displayed.
2.Click the 'My Waiting List' link.
The titles that you have currently placed on hold are displayed.
3.Click a title's 'Edit' link.
You are prompted to edit holds information.
4.Enter the new email address in the 'Email address' and 'Confirm Email address' fields.
5.Click 'Submit'.
The email address for the selected title is updated.

13. I was issued a new library card number and I don't see my checkouts/holds? What should I do?

To transfer your existing checkouts and holds to your new account, please contact support with your new library card number, your previous library card number, and your email address.

Library2Go- eBooks

1. What are eBooks?

eBooks are books that you can read on your computer and selected eBook readers.

2. How do I access eBooks?

eBooks will be available online at: http://ndlibrary2go.lib.overdrive.com/ You will need your library card number and PIN in order to check out EBooks. Your PIN is your last name.

3. How many titles can I check out at a time?

A total of five titles may be checked out at a time from our Library2Go downloadable service. This includes any downloadable audiobooks or video as well. For example, if you have 3 downloadable audiobooks and 1 video currently checked out, you can check out 2 eBooks.

4. What is the check out period for eBooks?

When you check eBook titles you will have the choice of 14 or 21 days.

5. Do I need any special software to access the eBooks?

You will need some free software called Adobe Digital Editions that is available from the Library2Go website for most ebook readers. The Kindle does not need any software to access ebooks.

6. Can I use a Mac or PC to access eBooks?

Yes.

7. How do I find out if my reader is compatible with Library2Go?

Please visit http://www.overdrive.com/resources/drc/ to find out if your device is compatible.

8. Will the Kindle work with Library2Go?

Yes, ebook titles available on Kindle will be listed as Kindle Book on Library2Go.

Overdue Department

1. I received a notice for a library book I thought I had returned, what should I do?

Please contact the Circulation Department at (701) 772-8116. We will attempt to locate the material and file a claimed return if we cannot locate it.

2. I can't locate a book I checked out. Do I have to pay for it?

Yes. If you are unable to find the library material we will bill you the replacement cost plus a processing fee. If you find and return the lost material within 6 months your money will be refunded, minus the processing fee.

3. I let someone borrow my library card and they didn't return the materials. Am I responsible for them?

You are responsible for all library materials charged to your library card. Please notify the circulation desk immediately if your library card is lost or stolen at (701) 772-8116.

Ask a reference librarian for help. They can help you use the library computer catalog to search by author, title, subject, or keyword.

Fiction titles are arranged by author's last name, first name, and then title.

If all copies of a popular book are checked out, we will generally try to order another. We also have a large selection of suggested reading to browse until your book becomes available again.

2. How do I know which book to read first in a series?

The Novelist database contains information on book series, titles, genres, authors, and read-a-likes. This is a great resource for starting your next book series.

3. How do I sign up for the Teen Advisory Board?

Stop at the library's Reference Desk and pick up an application. The Teen Advisory Board will meet once a month in the evening, dates are chosen the meeting before.
