There is nothing like storytime anywhere else in Grand Forks! Storytime include picture books, puppet shows, music, and activities geared for different age groups.

A new program at the Grand Forks Public! The group will meet in the library meeting room the third Wednesday of every month at 1pm.

Monthly meeting of the Grand Forks Public Library Board, meeting is open to members of the public. Please be present at the start of the meeting if you have comments you wish to share.

Students from Mayville State will be at the library every Wednesday evening from 6:00 PM - 7:30 PM to help with homework, english learning, studying for drivers tests, reading, studying for citizenship tests, and more! All ages welcome!

The mission of this group is to share creative energy with fellow writers, hone the craft of one’s individual writing, and provide constructive criticism of shared writing. Support exists as our ultimate goal, whether the individual writer wishes simply to listen, share, or even work to publish.

Sensory Activity Hour is specifically geared towards our adult special needs patrons. Sensory Activity Hour includes craft activities, snacks, goodie bags, and a whole lotta fun!

Drop-in & Knit is held every Friday at 12:00 PM in the Grand Forks Public Library. It's open to anyone with an interest in knitting, crocheting, or other fiber crafts. This isn't a how-to class but is a social event for fiber enthusiasts. We still try to answer questions if we can. Feel free to Drop-in & Knit when you have time.

All ages are welcome, children under the age of 13 need to be accompanied by an adult 18 years of age or older. Popcorn provided, just bring your own beverage!

Are you a storyteller A poet? Someone who has always wanted to write? Come join a teen focused writer's group once a month at the library. Learn more about the craft and connect with others who share the love of writing. We will be learning about genres, the mechanics of writing, writing, editing, and sharing when comfortable.

Get ready for a spook-tacular time at our Annual Haunted Stacks Halloween Party! This year the ghoulish, ghostly activities will haunt the entire library including the Children's Library and a new escape room!

Does your child want o learn how to play chess? Play and learn with other kids to improve their game and build friendships in the process.

Have you ever seen a thrift store painting of a landscape and thought, “Man, that would look even better with a Loch Ness Monster in the water”? We want to help you make it happen! Just in time for Halloween, join the Grand Forks Public Friends as we add our “monstrous” flair to old, forgotten artwork. We’ll provide you with an old canvas/print, paint and brushes – you bring your imagination! Paint in your own Bigfoot, dinosaur, ghost or goblin to an otherwise tranquil scene. The best part? It can turn out really badly, and that’s okay! All skill levels are welcome. The class will be assisted by Public Arts Commission Executive Director Ra’Chel Alexander, who will share a few tricks of the painting trade.

The Classic Re-Reads Book Club offers participants a chance to re-read those classics that they read -- or skipped reading -- in high school and college. This time with no grades attached! Join us for an informal discussion of these books that became classics for a reason. The book club meets the last Wednesday of each month at 7:00 pm.
