Grand Forks Public Friends
A Great Library Needs Great Friends!
The Friends of the Grand Forks Public Library is a group of dedicated community members that help to expand, enhance, and promote the public image of the library. The Friends raise funds that are used to supplement the library budget for programming, staff enrichment and other activities that engage people who value the library. With the mission to "Increase community awareness, involvement, and support for library services, programs, facilities, and needs.
Friends also advocate for the library by:
- Writing letters of support
- Volunteering at events
- Promoting library services
- Voting to support building projects or funding measures for the library
Friends accept donations of "gently" used books, DVDs, music CDs, and audio books. Bring your donations to the Library Circulation Desk. Unfortunately we cannot accept:
- Books that are damaged, mildewed, stained, or musty
- Reader's Digest Condensed books
The Friends are in need of (and always welcome) a few able-bodied volunteers who can help set up the spring and fall book sales among other things. This work involves lifting and stacking heavy boxes of books. Please email if you're interested in helping!
Not only do the Friends host two annual book sales and a maintain a year-round book sale rack inside the public library, we are a charity with Amazon Smile, log into smile.amazon.com and shop away like always (if "Friends of the Grand Forks Public Library is not displayed, you can search the name). A portion of your purchase will be donated to the Friends.
